Kao Sofina Primavista will release its fall 2024 makeup collection in Japan on September 7th. The collection includes:
– Style Lock Eyebrow Pencil & Powder (above, 3 variations (in LB (Light Brown), NB (Natural Brown) & GY (Grayish Brown)), ¥2600, pencil refill ¥1000, powder refill ¥1100)
– Style Lock Eyebrow Liquid & Powder (3 variations (in LB (Light Brown), NB (Natural Brown) & GY (Grayish Brown)), ¥2600, liquid refill ¥1000, powder refill ¥1100)
The line will also release its fall/winter 2024 base makeup collection in Japan on September 7th. The collection includes:
– Silky Lasting Pressed (pressed powder, 2 shades, 9g, refill with puff ¥2800, case (Compact Case Face Powder (Pressed)) ¥1000)
(Lucent White)
(Sheer Beige)
As far as I am aware, Primavista has only been releasing base makeup items. The upcoming launch of the eyebrow items is certainly an interesting development of the line. As I have mentioned, Sofina Aube will be officially discontinued at the end of August. The line’s Designing Eyebrow is part of the line’s current lineup and is still featured on the line’s official Japanese website. It appears very similar to Primavista’s Style Lock Eyebrow Pencil & Powder, which will be released a week after Aube’s official discontinuation.
(Designing Eyebrow was released in Japan in December 2008 when Aube was re-branded as Aube Couture. The item continued to be available after Aube Couture changed its name back to Aube in November 2017. There is more information on these name changes in this post.)
Also, the current lineup of Kanebo Coffret d’Or, which will be officially discontinued in December, includes W Brow Designer, which is also a fairly similar product. It was released in Japan in summer 2017 and it is still featured on the line’s official Japanese website. (Kanebo Cosmetics Inc. is currently part of the Kao Group.)
It could be possible that Primavista will release more point (color) makeup items and take on the role that Aube has (at least partially and probably only partially). As Aube and Coffret d’Or will both be discontinued, I would personally like to see Primavista release additional point makeup items!
