Twelve years after I wrote this post in the Bring It Back series, Helena Rubinstein is finally back in the UK!
The brand was relaunched at Harrods last month (according to WWD), and I have stopped by the counter to have a look. (The counter is not on the ground floor. It is at the Hair & Beauty Salon on the fifth floor.) The UK product lineup includes most of the skincare products but it only features a few of the makeup items. Many of the brand’s mascaras (which the brand is famous for) are available, but most of the other makeup products listed on the brand’s official website (the international version) are not.
I have been continuously following the brand since it left the UK, and I have noticed shifts in its emphases in the last decade or so. There has been more emphasis on skincare, and, more specifically, on skincare products in the top-end price range. On the other hand, the makeup side has become relatively quiet. These shifts have certainly changed the perceived image of the brand, which the brand has undoubtedly aimed for.
The visit to the counter was a pleasant experience, and I do hope that more products from the brand’s regular lineup will be available in the UK and, more importantly, that we will be able to visit a Helena Rubinstein counter in the UK for a long time to come.
