Earlier this year, Kosé Visée launched My Nudy Eyes, a range of eyeshadow palettes that featured mostly neutral-toned shades. Five variations were released, and I decided to try BE-3 Medium Beige.
Kosé Visée My Nudy Eyes in BE-3 Medium Beige (コーセー ヴィセ マイヌーディ アイズ BE-3 ミディアムベージュ系/ 高絲 Visée 訂製裸彩眼影盤 BE-3 中性自然裸, ¥1200) was released in Japan in spring 2019 (when the My Nudy Eyes range was launched with five variations (in BE-1 – BE-5)). The four shades in this palette are:
- light cream, softly pigmented, with pearly shimmer
- beige peach, with a below-medium pigmentation level, with pearly shimmer
- medium-depth medium-to-cool brown, with a below-medium pigmentation level, with pearly shimmer
- dark brown, intensely pigmented, with subtle pearly shimmer
All the four shades in this palette have multi-hued light-reflective particles. They all have a very soft and creamy texture, and they are all very easy to apply and blend. All of them have a good staying power.
The light cream works well as a base shade. It creates a soft veil of color and shimmer without looking whitish or too shimmery.
Both the beige peach and the medium-depth brown have a pigmentation level that is just below medium, but they both layer very well to create color intensity. The beige peach is a soft shadowing shade while the medium-depth brown is a fairly intense shadowing shade. (I think their color depths make this variation one of the more versatile ones in the range.) Their pearly shimmer, which I find very appealing, creates additional dimension for the eyes.
However, the beige peach is a little too warm-toned for me and the medium-depth brown, which goes on darker and cooler than how it looks in the pan, is a little too cool-toned for me. (I don’t think the two shades are very well-coordinated.) Also, to be a little picky, I wish the medium-depth brown were just a tiny bit lighter.
The dark brown works very effectively as an eyelining shade. It doesn’t require much layering to create color intensity.
This is a palette I wish I could like more. I really like the creaminess and the blendability of the four colors and their flattering finishes, but the tones of the two main colors unfortunately don’t work well enough for me.
