Addiction features a fairly wide array of blushers, and I have reviewed three of them (Blush in 04 Amazing, Cheek Stick in 14 Damask Rose and Cheek Polish in 06 Tadzio). Last year, the powder-based Blush range was renewed and it was replaced by The Blush range. One of the shades from the original Blush range that I was interested in was 22 Princess Goh, which was released in fall 2014. I was pleased that the new range still featured this shade, and I decided to try it. (It is now The Blush in 014 Princess Goh.)
Addiction The Blush in 014 Princess Goh (M) (アディクション ザ ブラッシュ 014 プリンセス ゴウ (M)/ 奧可玹 癮色美人單色頰彩* 014 王妃 (M), ¥2800) was released in Japan in spring 2018 (when The Blush range was launched). It is a light-to-medium (towards medium) cool-toned strawberry pink with a light-to-medium (towards medium) pigmentation level and a velvety matte finish. (“(M)” indicates a matte finish.) It is easy to apply and blend, and it has a good staying power.
The powder is quite firmly pressed, but it is by no means difficult to pick it up with a brush. I find it easy to create a soft veil of color on the cheeks without having to be very carefully light-handed, and it is also easy to layer the product to increase the intensity and the vibrancy of the color.
What also impresses me about this shade is its translucency. As the color saturation is increased through layering, the translucency by and large remains. The matte finish and the translucency of this shade create an airy look which I find very appealing.
Overall, I like Princess Goh very much. It is easy to use, and it creates a very fresh and feminine look. Compared with Blush in 04 Amazing, Princess Goh is lighter and slightly less cool-toned. Both are versatile and can look very natural, but Princess Goh tends to look a little more mellow.
(*Blush (the original range) and The Blush (the renewed range) have the same Mandarin name in Taiwan.)
