A few months ago, I reviewed Excel‘s Skinny Rich Shadow in SR01 Beige Brown in my Stash Debut series. Today, I will be focusing on the line’s Skinny Rich Cheek in RC01 Pink Nectar. (Here, “skinny” (“スキニー”) means “skin-like” or “skin-tonal”.)
Sana Excel Skinny Rich Cheek in RC01 Pink Nectar (サナ エクセル スキニーリッチチーク RC01 ピンクネクター/ Sana Excel 絲緞光漾腮紅 RC01 薔薇紅粉, ¥1500) was released in Japan in spring 2016 (when the Skinny Rich Cheek range was launched with three shades (in RC01 Pink Nectar, RC02 Pure Peach and RC03 Rose Peony)). (Then, RC04 Shell Coral was released in spring 2017.) It is a peachy pink with an above-medium pigmentation level, and it has a softly glowy finish with a hint of multi-hued shimmer. It is very easy to apply and blend, and it has a very good staying power.
It has a very natural finish as it doesn’t look powdery or too glowy. It is easy to layer to increase the intensity and the vibrancy of the color, and the vibrancy of the color lasts well. If you want to go for a subtler look, you will need to be quite light-handed with it.
Overall I like this fresh and lively color (which, with its warm peachy tone, doesn’t look orange on me) and I like its natural finish. To go with this fairly vibrant blusher shade, I usually go for low-key colors for the eyes and the lips.

This looks so pretty :O Usually it’s always about their eyeshadows so I’m intrigued by the blush.
Hi Rinoa,
Indeed, Excel’s Skinny Rich Shadow and Powder & Pencil Eyebrow EX seem to be two of the most popular products from the line. However, I do think Skinny Rich Cheek in RC01 Pink Nectar is working better for me than Skinny Rich Shadow in SR01 Beige Brown. RC01 is a lovely color and I enjoy wearing it a lot.
(I just posted my review of RC02 Pure Peach. I hope you will enjoy reading it!)
Thank you very much for posting your comment again! :)
