Among the items from SUQQU‘s fall 2014 makeup collection, what piqued my interest was neither Blend Color Eyeshadow in EX-21 (with eight shades) nor the new Eye Color Palette range. It was the new shades of Creamy Glow Lipstick Moist that caught my attention. I didn’t walk away with any of them after testing them for the first time, but I did decide to go for 09 Zakuroseki a few months later.
SUQQU Creamy Glow Lipstick Moist in 09 Zakuroseki (スック クリーミィ グロウ リップスティック モイスト 09 柘榴石/ SUQQU 晶采潤澤脣膏* 09 柘榴石, ¥5000 in Japan, £27 in the UK) was among the four shades released in fall 2014. It is a warm rose with a medium-to-slightly-dark color depth and a beige undertone. It has a light-to-medium pigmentation level and it imparts a glossy sheen on the lips with no shimmer. It glides on very easily, and it feels very emollient on the lips. The color and the finish last decently well.
There isn’t much that I don’t like about 09 Zakuroseki. I like its warm-rose tone and I also like its pigmentation level. (It is on the sheer side but it is not overly sheer.) In addition, I like its natural glossy finish. The combination of the glossy finish and the high emolliency helps reduce the appearance of lip lines over the course of wear.
Overall, this shade suits my complexion and goes well with my warm-neutral eyeshadows. It has once or twice looked a tiny bit dark on my lips, but, on the whole, it appeals to me a lot. It is among my recent lipstick favorites.
(Not all shades of Creamy Glow Lipstick Moist have the same finish. Among the four shades released in fall 2014, 07 Sangoseki, 08 Tougyoku and EX-15 Benikiseki were under the “veil glow” category. (They were the first three “veil glow” shades.) The names of the other two finish categories (“tsuya” and “shine”) might have first appeared on SUQQU’s website when the brand released its spring 2015 makeup collection. (The three shades in the collection were under the three different categories.) Back in fall 2014, 09 Zakuroseki was described as having the “usual” type of finish of the range. I presume that it is now under the “tsuya” category. (Have a look at my post on Creamy Glow Lipstick Moist in EX-16 Momobara for more on these three categories.))
(*It appears that some of SUQQU’s product names in Mandarin changed after the brand was launched in Taiwan.)
