I bought the SUQQU holiday set in kit B and just used it for the first time tonight (resisting for a long time as it looks pretty!) however I found the eye makeup to be very light and lacked pigmentation. Hard to get the colour from the compact (even a little bit!) to my eyes. Probably won’t buy this brand again in Japan.
Hi Michelle,
It is a pity that the palette is not working well for you. I am a little surprised to know that you think the colors are too sheer. I swatched the two palettes from the two kits a few weeks ago, and I felt that the colors were generally fairly well-pigmented.
Many eyeshadows (particularly medium-depth shades and darker shades) from Japanese beauty brands have an above-medium pigmentation level, and the ones from SUQQU generally do too. They (including the ones from SUQQU) tend not to be intensely pigmented, but they usually have a good color pay-off. The pale eyeshadow shades from Japanese brands can sometimes be quite sheer as they are usually used as a base or a top coat to impart a pearly or a shimmery finish on the eyes.
(I am just wondering if it might be the case that you are more accustomed to very intensely pigmented eyeshadows. If it is the case, you may find many eyeshadows from Japanese brands to be on the sheer side.)
Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts! :)
