I’m considering on getting this holiday chicca set, the one with the cream. What’s the verdict on chicca’s color pigmentation? Is it rich, opaque, fine, light, shimmer, matte? Chicca’s one of those brands I’ve been eyeing to try out but it’s on the expensive side. Is it good for sensitive skin folks too?

Hi Tina,

In general, in terms of pigmentation and finish, Chicca’s makeup items are typical of products from Japanese brands. They have a moderate pigmentation level. The eyeshadows are pearly and softly shimmery, and the lipsticks have a natural glossy finish.

Most makeup products from Japanese brands contain little or no fragrance and are generally suitable for those with sensitive skin.

I was checking Chicca’s website for more information on the set you are considering buying. The Make Palette Winter Wonder contains:

– Cheek in Pink Glow (the round one on the bottom left, exclusive to this palette): a cream blusher

– Sprinkle Touch in Baby Blue (exclusive to this palette): shimmer powder for the eyes (base or topcoat), presumably very sheer

– Lip Color in Pure Pink (the pink one on the left, exclusive to this palette)

– Lip Colors in 03 Creamy Tomato, 06 Lucent Red and 07 Shell Beige: they are the same shades as those of Mesmeric Lipsticks in 03, 06 and 07. (Mesmeric Lipsticks are moderately pigmented (not intensely pigmented or too sheer) and have a soft glossy finish.)

I think, overall, this palette will give you a natural (rather than a dramatic) look.

The Beauty Glow Body Cream Sweet Wonder does contain fragrance and may possibly contain potential irritants like alcohol. (However, Japanese bodycare products are not usually heavily scented.)

I think this is a nice set to go for if you want to try products from Chicca. The price is quite high but it still offers good value for money. (Each Mesmeric Lipstick is priced at ¥3800 in Japan.)

I hope it helps, and thank you very much for your questions! :)

Yeah it does, thanks! I was hoping the lip colors were going to be lip stains, like the ones that they have on their website. But if they are going to be just like the mesmeric lip sticks, I might just pass up this set. Have you heard anything on Chicca lip stains? Maybe I should get a lip stain separately, instead of doing the whole winter set.

Hi Tina,

You are very welcome! :)

I was trying to find some information on-line, and I think it could be the case that, with Enticing Lip Stain, some shades are more pigmented than others. Also, it seems that the finish is semi-glossy and that it is not the gloss-less stained finish from similar products from western brands.

Hope it helps a little, and thank you very much for stopping by again! :)
