(I really want to like it, but……)

– SUQQU opened its second counter in London at Fenwick Bond Street on August 4th. (It is great to see SUQQU continue to expand in the UK.) To celebrate the opening, Blend Color Eyeshadow in 08 Mizuaoi from fall 2011 is back for a limited period at this counter. Also, SUQQU’s fall 2014 makeup collection will be released in the UK on August 21st.
– I had a look at Dior’s new 5 Couleurs eyeshadow palettes at Selfridges. The one I really wanted to try (and like) is 846 Tutu, but on the whole I was disappointed. The three pastels were all very pale, and the light-to-medium purple lacked depth and dimension. All the shades (except the middle one) were quite frosty. (Different variations had different combinations of finishes. I also tested 676 Candy Choc, and most shades had a luminous-matte finish.)
– I came across Bulgari’s Le Gemme collection at Harrods, which is carrying the collection exclusively in the UK. (See more information here.) I tried Amarena (with rose and cherry) and Maravilla (citrus-based) among the six fragrances in the collection (eaux de parfum, 100ml, £215 each). Both were lovely, and I preferred Maravilla. However, as eaux de parfum, they seemed very light and subtle.
– I smelled the relaunched Stella and it did seem identical to the original one. (I didn’t wear it on myself as I already had other fragrances on.) I liked the fact that the change in the bottle design was subtle, as the collar around the lid didn’t look too obviously golden.
– I tried Elizabeth Arden’s limited-edition Green Tea Yuzu (eau de toilette). The citrusy top notes were very refreshing and uplifting, but they didn’t last. It was slightly too sweet for my liking but it was still a pleasant scent.
