The first fragrance release from Jill Stuart in Japan was a trio of scents (Jasmin Fleur, Night Blooming Lily and Vanilla Lust) back in 2006. (According to Fragrantica, these three scents were released (presumably in North America) in 2005.) I remember wanting to try Jasmin Fleur at the time, and I nearly decided to buy one on eBay. (They were never available in the UK.)

Over the following few years, Jill Stuart released more fragrances (such as Jill by Jill Stuart (2007), Night Jewel (2009) and Vanilla Lust (2011, a different version)), but it was Relax Eau de White Floral that got me interested again. It was released in December 2012 soon after the brand debuted the Relax bodycare range in September.

According to Cosme.Net, Relax Eau de White Floral Eau de Cologne (50ml, ¥3800) features notes of bergamot, lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, cassis, raspberry, peach, strawberry, lily, lily of the valley, jasmine, rose, ylang ylang, orange blossom, geranium, basil, rosemary, cedarwood, vetiver, amber, and musk.

Even though the fragrance is formulated to be a fruity floral, it is more of a floral fruity on me. The sweeter elements of the top notes, such as cassis and raspberry, are much more prominent than the citrusy ones. The sweetness carries on almost throughout the wear but it does take on a hint of powderiness from some of the floral notes in the later stages. The drydown is still fairly sweet and it is not particularly woody or musky. On the whole, the scent has minimal developments.

As an eau de cologne, it has a good strength of fragrance and it is decently long-lasting.

I like the design of the bottle. The pattern that you see on the body of the bottle is on the back of the bottle. The bow and the charm are attached to the lid and can be detached.

Overall the scent is sweet and fruity, and it fits the girlie image of the brand. I don’t find it a particularly relaxing scent, as it is not a calming scent for me. I think this is a juicy and sparkling scent that is quite cheerful and exuberant, and it is suitable for spring and (especially) summer.
