Since I reviewed items from Nude Skincare in 2008 and 2009, the lineup of this UK-based skincare brand has changed considerably. As the brand keeps the number of products relatively small, quite a few products from the original lineup have been replaced or discontinued. Currently, Nude Skincare carries four moisturizers, and today I am reviewing Replenish Daily Moisturiser Omega 6 & 9.
Replenish Daily Moisturiser Omega 6 & 9 (50ml, £46) feels rich and dense when dispensed onto the hands. However, when warmed up between the palms, the cream melts like butter and develops a very good amount of slip. It is absorbed relatively quickly.
Some of the main moisturizing ingredients in this product are sweet almond oil, hydrogenated palm kernel glycerides, hydrogenated coco-glycerides, shea butter, cetearyl alcohol, glycerin, pentylene glycol, and alpha-glucan oligosaccharide.
The product contains antioxidants such as saccharomyces lysate (yeast) extract, copper gluconate, tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E), and tocopherol (vitamin E).
It does not contain alcohol, mineral oil, or parabens. It contains fragrance (parfum).
It contains jasminum officinale (jasmine) flower extract, which is mainly used to scent a product. It is towards the end of the first half of the ingredient list, and the amount of it may cause concern for some people.
Another aspect of the product that can be improved is the packaging. If the round opening of the jar were wider, it would be easier to scoop out the cream at the corners of the jar.
Overall, this is a fairly decently formulated moisturizer for evening use. The high emolliency of this product should appeal to those with dry or very dry skin.
