Purple and green have emerged as the dominant colors for fall 2012. Continuing from the spring 2012 makeup trend, green is still a key player. On the other hand, I am glad that purple is back on trend.
Green
Compared with greens for spring 2012, those for fall 2012 are generally deeper and warmer. Fashion brands such as Dior and YSL are leading the way with rich khaki greens, while Shu Uemura showcases lighter greens as accent colors to go with darker neutrals.

Purple
Purple seems to be a trend color for fall 2012 mainly with Japanese brands. Esprique‘s Blend Dimensional Eyes (Shiny) in A-7 is the first eyeshadow palette from the line with a combination of pink and purple. Lavshuca and Majolica Majorca both released two new eyeshadow palettes for fall 2012, and, in both cases, one of the two palettes is purple-toned.

Many new items for fall 2012 from Japanese brands include both green and purple. Coffret d’Or‘s two new Beauty Face Shadow palettes (below) feature a purple-toned variation (05 Lavender Purple) and a taupe-toned variation with a mint green (06 Lime Khaki).

I like most of the purple tones for fall 2012, as they are not too blue-toned or plum-toned. I will be reviewing Aube Couture’s Designing Impression Eyes in 561 Purple later on, and I am certainly interested in trying more of them!
