It has been a long time since the last Japanese Cosmetics Focus post, and today I bring you Watosa.

Watosa is one of the brands that I mentioned in my post If I Could Go to Japan RIGHT NOW. Many years ago, I spotted some Watosa items in a beauty boutique in Hong Kong after seeing them on a few Japanese magazines, and I thought I had to leave the store with something.  I decided to go for Lipstick in 210 Metropolis Mauve. It is a deep plum mauve with a satiny finish. The paper packaging features the brand’s signature stripy patterns.

I also saw some Watosa products in the Ginza branch of the fashion/beauty boutique Opaque in Tokyo a year after the trip to Hong Kong.

I like the brand because I like its stylish mix of quirk and chicness. Also, despite its colorful image, it seems to have a low-key presence in the Japanese beauty scene.

Currently, the brand features skincare, base makeup, point makeup, nail colors and beauty accessories (mainly makeup brushes). Here are some visual highlights of the brand:

Watosa Azllenia Protect Perfection Cream 2(Azllenia Protect Perfect Cream)

Watosa Cheek Brush 7(Cheek Brush)

.

If you are interested in Watosa and have a chance to go to Tokyo, do stop by Watosa’s flagship store, Hello! Watosa, on Omotesando.

Have a look at this article in The Japan Times, which has a brief mention of the brand and the flagship store.

If I have a chance to go to Tokyo again, I will certainly consider stopping by the flagship store and perhaps picking up Merry Fairy Dust!
