In 2008, SHISEIDO started implementing a 3-year plan to increase its global presence. (See my post in 2008 regarding this here.) A major part of the plan is to increase the brand’s retail points across the world. Since then, SHISEIDO has commenced business in the following countries:
March 2008: Romania, Bulgaria
May 2009: Egypt
August 2009: Laos, Morocco
December 2009: Azerbaijan
May 2010: Mongolia
From this month, SHISEIDO will launch retail points in three Balkan nations: Albania, Kosovo, and Macedonia. The brand will be the first Japanese cosmetics brand available in these three countries.
With these European launches, the brand will be available in 77 countries, including 44 European countries.
Updated on October 15th, 2010:
According to one of Shiseido’s latest press releases (via www.nikkei.com), the brand was available in Mongolia from September.
