Ooh, looks like blues are really the IT color for summer!
Hi Catherine,
I think you are definitely right. Magie Deco’s and Chicca’s summer 2009 makeup collections are also featuring blue shades. So is YSL’s summer 2009 makeup collection. :)
Thank you for posting your comment! :)
Hello PJ,
Thanks for replying to my email. Have been away and then out of sorts so I have only recently returned to the internet :0) Have been catching up on your posts I have missed. More great reviews!
I love all the nail colours in the Coffret D’or range.
I wish the Chanel Japanese special was available here too. I like the sound of the “berry scent” in the Jergens too. I tried some of the Clinique Youth Surge SPF 15 and thought the same about the residue and the richness of the product.. I was interested to see Japanese knotweed among the ingredients and had a grin to myself. It grows like crazy where my friends live in the West Country especially in their streams and rivers. I’m pleased there is a good use for it as an anti-oxidant. I will have to let them know :0) I am very into herbs and plants and collect mints so was interested to see “coleus barbatus” mentioned too. I don’t have this one in my collection of course but know it is used to treat gastric and liver problems and inflammation in some cases. I know first hand that some of the mint family can indeed cause an itchy rash when harvesting though. Some of them should be restricted to use in detergents I feel. Though I do love my mints so for scent, herb pillows and cooking. I got the May Biteki a couple of weeks ago but my Japanese is still not good enough to understand much. I cannot work out what the gifts are for or if they are safe for me to use. Do you know if the little pressed powder contains bleaching agents? I would be so grateful if you could let me know.
Is the round pot a soap dish? I’m sure you are having a good giggle at my ignorance :0)
I am trying to save up my money for a couple of Dior items coming out soon. It is a toss up between those and the pretty Estee Lauder face powder with the dragonfly on and the pastel eye colours (if they come to the UK). I am also trying to resist the Bobbi Brown Platinum Shimmer Brick. I probably should not buy any of them but I am being good and not having an Easter egg this year so I might treat myself to something in May :0) Wishing you a Happy Springtime and Easter. Hugs Chloe
First of all I wanna say that I love your blog! You have opened my eyes to all the Japanese makeup and “enabled me” ahem lol to shop for the cutest prettiest stuffs. And I love Coffret D’Or! mostly because of reading your blog. Too bad everything is really expensive to buy here in the states I really have to pick my most favorites.
Hi Chloe,
Good to hear from you again. :)
I am with you on the mint. Some plants in the mint (and the citrus) family are used in skincare products, and I generally don’t think they should be. They do smell nice, but the fragrant molecules can irritate the skin. (Some plant oils from flowers can irritate the skin for the same reason.)
I haven’t collected the May 2009 issue of Biteki, but I have seen photos of it (and the gifts/samples) on some Japanese blogs. The Dior pack has a sample of the new whitening essence/serum and a sample of the new whitening powder foundation (not a pressed powder). The round Doraemon box is a trinket box. :)
Whitening products from Japanese brands don’t contain bleaching agents. They are essentially brightening products that are supposed to help create a lucid and bright complexion (as opposed to a dull complexion with uneven skin tone and sun spots). Whether they actually work is another story. (You might have come across my extended post on whitening products from Japanese brands.)
I have been trying to control my spending as well. As you know, I bought Lady Dior too and that I got Sheer Stella 2009, and I bought a couple of spring 2009 eyeshadow palettes from Japanese brands (which I will be writing about later) last month. I don’t think I will pick up anything major this month. There are still a few items on my shopping list, but I think I will wait until May to think about buying them.
Enjoy the nice weather, and happy Easter! :)
Hi Mangobobala,
Thank you very much for reading my blog. I am happy that you enjoy it.
Coffret D’Or is certainly one of my favorite makeup lines at the moment. They are indeed more expensive when we buy them from outside Asia. I do think they are worth the prices, but I certainly try to pick and choose and get what I really want…:)
I think I might pick up one of the new eye palettes from this upcoming collection. I am interested in seeing how this eye palette series compares with the existing ones.
Thank you for posting your comment! :)
I'm wondering when will Coffret D'Or HONG KONG launch this summer 09 range? My relative will be there on June 20-23
Hi Anastasia,
I am sorry, but I don't really know when this collection will be launched in Hong Kong. But I think it is quite possible that your relative will get to see it during the time while he/she is there.
(Maybe someone that has the information might leave a comment here.)
Thank you very much for your question! :)
