(Dior Cleansing Gelee for Face, Lips and Eyes)
It has a very pleasant light-cream texture. With minimal massaging, it melts into a watery lotion consistency. It rinses off nicely and does not leave a greasy film. I still use a little bit of face wash after that, but I’d think some people probably don’t need that extra step as the cleanser does leave the skin quite refreshed.
It did remove lipstick and waterproof mascara when I tested it on the back of my hand (I tested it on Maybelline Volum’ Express Waterproof), but I usually still use an eye/lip makeup remover before using any cleansing gel/cream. (I don’t like any massaging/rubbing in my eye/lip area.)
This product is alcohol-free but contains fragrance.
Generally, I still prefer a cleansing oil, which is quick and easy to use and removes everything at one go. But if you are looking for a light gel/cream-based makeup remover for this summer (and are not sensitive to fragrance), this can be a good candidate.

I have just finished the whole bottle,I only used it to take the make up off my eyes but the whole bottle lasted for 1.5 month!
Vs. “Take It Away” from Estee lauder that has lasted almost 4 months.
Will not repurchase,i needed to pour it onto the cotton pad ,as it would only remove a bit of a make up at once,so i had to repeat pouring it on the new cotton pad.
So 1 eye required 4 sqeezes of Diors cleanser.
I am very disappointed.

As I mentioned in my review, I usually use an eye/lip makeup remover (usually a bi-phase one) to remove my eye and lip makeup before I use any gel/cream-based cleanser for the face. (But when I do occasionally use the Dior one for the whole face, it seems to work fine for the eye area.)
But, most of the time, I use a cleansing oil. The RMK one that I am currently using is quick, gentle, effective, and hassle-free.

I’m surprised that it only lasted 1.5 months for the commenter above. I currently using a milky cleanser that is about 5.7 ounces in tube form but it lasts me a good 4 months or so. I’m a very light make up user so I wonder if that makes a difference.

I just thought someone wearing contacts as I do would have the same problem as I do.
I can’t use Bi-Phase removers as they get in to my eyes and irritate them,the same with oil cleansers.
Water like cleansers,aka Eau Micellaire pull the skin around the eyes, no matter how much cleanser you pour on the cotton pad.
So I can only use cream cleansers,but thety are either too weak to cope with liner-mascara-eyeshadows-concealer.(Like Dior)
Or they do a fantastic job like Estee Lauder Take it Away,but it’s full of isoparafin and petrolatum.
There’s only Gerlain now,left to give it a try,they have a nice cream eye-lips cleanser,without mineral oils,but the package is twice as little as Dior and EL,and the price is crazy as usual.;(((
Strange,there’s almost nothing offered by most brands in terms of quality cream cleansers for eyes.
Those present are full of mineral oils,which is a very cheap solution…

You are very welcome. I hope you will like it if you do decide to try it. In the UK, there are sometimes samples of this cleanser available. Maybe you can check whether your local Dior counter has them.
The amount of cleanser used per application does depend on the amount of makeup to take off, or sometimes it is a matter of habit. Also, it might take more of a certain cleanser to remove a certain kind of waterproof item. So I think things can really vary.

I do understand your frustration. I don’t wear contact lenses but I have many friends that do and makeup application and removal can be an issue. Also, people can react negatively to a variety of ingredients, which adds to the complexity of things.
I agree that many cream cleansers can be too weak to remove eye makeup, especially if it is heavier eye makeup. Unfortunately effective eye makeup removers are usually heavily oil-based (they almost have to be), no matter what type of oil they use…
Hopefully someone that comes across your comment that has a similar issue will let us know if there is any product worth trying, and I certainly hope you will find something that works for you. Do keep me posted on this.

This seems to be the week of cleanser finds since I read an entry about Ren shortly after learning about the the dior cleanser. I know you usually focus on Japanese products but since Ren is from the UK, I was wondering if you were familiar with the brand. Mayblossom and Blue Cypress Facial Wash and Rosa Centifolia Facial Wash were highlighted in the entry and both sound promising. Have you had experience with either?

I have been somewhat interested in Ren for a while but I have not tried their products, so I am not very familiar with them on a first-hand basis. I am quite happy with the cleansing items I am using (RMK Cleansing Oil N and Simple Moisturising Facial Wash, both of which I have talked about on my blog), but I think I will consider Ren if my cleansers become less easily available.
