YSL’s seasonal collections have been doing fairly well in the past few seasons. For the upcoming spring 2008, there is another relatively extensive collection in store for us.
The YSL spring 2008 makeup collection includes:
Rogue Pure Shine: 2 new shades
Golden Gloss: 2 new shades
Rouge Pure: 2 new shades
Mascara Volume Infini Curl: 1 new shade
Ombre Duo Lumière: 2 new variations
Eyecolor Touche: 5 shades (limited editions)
Pop Stick Blush: 3 shades (limited editions)
Palette Pop (limited edition)
So far, I have to say, overall, I am not too excited about the shades. Perhaps I will change my mind when I see the items in person.
But, for me, one exciting thing is that lilac and plum seem to be a big part of the spring 2008 makeup trend! We have seen
Chanel’s and Lunasol’s stunning lilac eyeshadow palettes. (Both are already on my shopping list now.) On Makeup Bag’s post on Guerlain’s spring 2008 collection, we see that the purple eyeshadow palette is featured right in the center of the palette lineup. Now we see even more lilac/plum above in YSL’s Ombre Duo Lumière.Keep them coming!

I agree with you; those colors don’t look tremendously exciting, do they?
I’m a Guerlain girl from way back, but ever since they switched out the formulas of the Terracotta Gloss and Shine I’ve been on semi-strike. I also cannot wear purple eyeshadow of any stripe.
I always want to love YSL, but this has resulted in multiple purchases used once and given away to a friend who has no nearby YSL counter. So someone is happy!
Hello Suzanna,
Thank you very much for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment.
Indeed, so far the shades are not exciting me. We’ll see when the items arrive in store…
Generally I like purple eyeshadows. But specifically, it is soft cool lilacs that suit me the most. Rich plum-purples are also very good but they don’t suit me as well.
One of my favorite YSL items is the powder foundation Tient de Perle. But it is currently not available in the UK. My recent favorite is the Golden Gloss range. Sparkling but not too intensely frosty.
At the moment it looks like I won’t be picking up YSL items in the spring. So my Golden Gloss will probably still remain my most recent favorite…
