Like the regular seasonal color makeup launches, many Japanese brands release new foundation products in spring and fall. Some are new additions and some replace part of the collection.

SUQQU has been changing the packaging from creamy white to black and a very dark violet, and the new foundation products continue the transformation.

Looking at the whole SUQQU foundation lineup, I notice that a couple of the products have been discontinued (the Cream Foundation, which boasts a natural medium-to-full coverage, and Liquid Foundation Lucent, with sheer coverage).

But overall the foundation line (what SUQQU is mainly known for) has expanded. The new additions include:

One cream foundation
One powder foundation
One primer for the cream foundation
One primer for the powder foundation
One loose powder (SUQQU’s first loose powder)

These new items include red, yellow, and blue pigments to add vibrancy and transparency to the complexion.

I am interested in the loose powder. I usually use a powder foundation, wait for a few minutes, AND set it with loose powder for maximal lasting power. I love the very groomed and polished look. A good loose powder can really make my skin smooth and cover up the pores. (Read about my foundation routine if you are interested.) I look forward to testing all these new products later!

Outside Japan, SUQQU is available in Selfridges London (Yeah!) as well as Isetan and Central Chidlom (from September 15) in Bangkok.

hi pj,

during my last trip to japan, Jill stuart and suqqu are my two main target, however, when shopping in ikebukuro seibu, many suqqu stuff is out of stock, which is very disappointing, for example, blush and e/s i can only see a few colours, but still i bought a lot! all except the new limited a/w new products, which was not for sale by then…sadly.

so maybe you should visit more than one of their counters if you are going to tokyo.

Hello there again!

It seems that we have similar tastes! I love both Jill Stuart and SUQQU. Even though one is so girlie and cute and the other is minimal and elegant, I love them both.

It was a shame that many SUQQU items were out of stock, especially when you made it all the way there…

Interestingly, Ikebukuro Seibu is the only major department store in Tokyo that I didn’t have time to go to. I know there are so many cosmetics brands there…I will definitely go there next time.

We do have SUQQU in the UK. I am very happy about this, even though the prices are higher than the retail prices in Japan. This means I will also look at SUQQU’s products when I go to Japan, and I will definitely check more than one counter.

Thank you again for your comment and suggestion. If you enjoy reading my blog, please do recommend it to other cosmetics lovers you know in Hong Kong! Thank you very much!

i have always forwarded your blog to my friends already, haha, your blog so informative and useful. And my enthusiasm towards skincare and makeup is just like you. But unlike you, i am lazy writing blog…haha, but if i have time i will sure post the things i bought in japan later.

Since I stayed in ikebukuro sunshine hotel, that’s why i visited the seibu there so that i dun need to carry the stuff i bought and walk around, it can be exhausting….

in hk we dun have suqqu and jill stuart…i still dun know why they do not come here??? But luckily we can still find many other brands here. I think if you go japan, you may like to take a look at these brands, as they are quite popular:

Albion, Lissage, cosme decorte, est, and many other drugstore stuff.

Hi Sin5409 again,

Thank you for your comment again!

Thank you as well for your kind words and for introducing my blog to your friends! That is very nice of you. I hope they would enjoy reading my blog.

Actually I stayed somewhere near Ikebukuro as well. But somehow I was more focused on exploring other areas of Tokyo. (My favorite area is Ginza.) Yes, carrying all the shopping can be so tiring…I can speak from my experience in Tokyo!

Thank you for mentioning these brands. I am interested in all of them. I have never tested any Lissage product before so I am definitely curious about it.

Thanks again for stopping by!
