Almost all of Chanel‘s blusher releases in the last few seasons grabbed my attention, and I am pleased with the ones I got (Les Chaînes de Chanel and Fleurs de Printemps). The brand’s spring 2022 makeup collection features two limited-edition shades of Blush Lumière. I liked both of them, and I decided to go for Pêche Rosée.
Chanel Blush Lumière in Pêche Rosée (シャネル ブラッシュ ルミエール ペッシュ ロゼ/ 香奈兒 光燦頰彩盤 初陽, limited edition, £52) is a light-to-medium orange-toned peach. It has a light-to-medium (towards medium) pigmentation level and a shimmery finish. (The light-reflective particles are multi-hued and they are mostly warm-toned.) It is very easy to blend and has a fairly good staying power.
It is quite firmly pressed. Even though I think it is more or less as firmly pressed as Les Chaînes de Chanel and Fleurs de Printemps, it takes more time to build up the color intensity. I think the densely-ridged surface could be one of the reasons. (The blusher brush I usually use doesn’t pick up the powder as easily.)
The orange-toned peach looks very fresh and creates a sun-kissed look. (It doesn’t look too orange-toned on me.) The finish is quite shimmery, but it is not pearly or frosty. It doesn’t emphasize the appearance of pores very much, but I personally prefer a slightly less shimmery finish. (The powder looks considerably more shimmery on the cheeks than it does in the pan.)
The product comes with a semi-circular and slightly concave brush. It can be stored inside the case (with a plastic separator between the powder and the brush). I haven’t used it, but the hair feels decently dense and soft.
Overall the product works quite well for me. The orange-toned peach appeals to me a lot and it is a lovely shade to wear in spring and summer. The slightly time-consuming application and the shimmery finish are not as appealing, but they are relatively minor issues.
