Like Precious Garden and Softymo, Fortune is a drugstore beauty line from Kosé Cosmeport under Kosé. Today, in my Japanese Cosmetics Focus series (which is under the Japanese Brand Profile category), let’s take a closer look at this line.
On June 5th, 2017, Fortune was launched as a haircare and hair fragrance line in Japan. The launch lineup featured Shampoo, Treatment (conditioner), Hair Mask, Hair Oil and Hair Fragrance, all of which were predominantly rose-scented. Shortly afterwards, in August, the line released Hand Cream and Moist Hand Cream. In August 2018, the line released Body Milk, Moist Body Milk and Lip Color Treatment (tinted lip treatment).
In December 2019, the line launched its base and point (color) makeup items. They included Skin Tint Tone Up Primer (two shades), Skin Tint Tone Up Powder (two shades) and Marshmallow Tint Rouge (four shades). The packaging style of these new items is very different from that of the other items from the line. The new items are under their own Fortune range whereas all the items that were previously released are under the Rose of Heaven range. (“Rose of Heaven” used to be more of a tagline for the entire line.)

The line continued to expand its product lineup this year. On February 21st, the line released two new primers under the Rose of Heaven range, and, on April 1st, the line released its summer 2020 makeup collection under the Fortune range.
Here is a look at the line’s summer 2020 makeup collection:
– Lip Plumper (lip gloss, 1 shade, ¥1400)

– Lip Illuminate (1 shade, ¥1400)
– Lip Stardom (1 shade, ¥1400)
– Perfect Eraser (sebum-reducing & pore-smoothing primer, 7ml, ¥1200)
Currently, members from boy band Hey! Say! JUMP are the ambassadors for the line.
The line caught my attention when it debuted in 2017, and the launch of its makeup items last year certainly managed to keep me interested in the line. The look of the Rose of Heaven range is feminine with a girlie touch, and the packaging of the makeup items has a very slight Lavshuca-esque feel to it. (Yes, I still miss Lavshuca!) I would love to see the line expand further to include items like blushers and eyeshadows. We’ll see!

I miss Lavshuca too haha. This brand is gorgeous, I want to try. I really really love kose’s happy bath day rose scent too, I literally got bullied on reddit for admitting that. :p it’s nostalgic to me and it’s getting harder to find, Rose of Heaven has lovely scents too. The lip products look so nice
Hi Lucy,
Happy Bath Day, of course! It’s an adorable line! :)
I would certainly love to try items from Fortune. I am quite interested in Lip Stardom, Skin Tint Tone Up Powder and the two hand creams at the moment.
Some of the items from Visée (like Glam Glow Eyes, Glossy Rich Eyes and Blend Color Cheeks) remind me of the packaging style of Lavshuca in the line’s earlier years, but I think Lavshuca’s items from that period had a more girlie vibe to them.
Thank you very much for posting your comment again, and keep safe!
