Kose Fasio Liquid Eye Color WP PU-6 Purple Spring 2017 Makeup 1

In 2017, I reviewed Kosé Fasio‘s Liquid Eye Color WP in GD-7 Gold. I didn’t consider getting PU-6 Purple at the time (reason mentioned in the review of GD-7), but I decided to give it a try later on.

Kosé Fasio Liquid Eye Color WP in PU-6 Purple (コーセー ファシオ リキッドアイカラー WP PU-6 パープル/ 高絲 菲希歐 琉璃恆久水眼影 PU-6, ¥1200) was released in Japan in spring 2017 (when the Liquid Eye Color WP range was launched with ten shades). It is a lightly-to-moderately pigmented light-to-medium pinkish lilac with a sparkly finish. It is very easy to apply, blend and layer. There is enough time to blend the product before it dries up, and layering doesn’t result in unevenness or patchiness. It is also easy to create a gradation.

As it is not particularly pigmented (it is a little less pigmented than GD-7), layering is needed for color intensity. One layer on the entire upper eyelids (three dots of the product on each eyelid) creates a glimmering wet-look finish and a soft veil of color. (The finish is already fairly sparkly but the color looks quite sheer.) Another layer over the lower parts of the upper eyelids (two dots of the product on each eyelid) increases the color saturation effectively and creates an intensely sparkly finish. For me, the main issue is that it is a little difficult to build up the color intensity without creating a very sparkly finish. By the time the lilac shows up nicely, the finish has become too sparkly for me.

The light-reflective particles are multi-hued. Since the particles are fairly large, their hues are quite easily visible. (The sparkles are mostly silver, pink, peach and green, and there are some blue and purple sparkles as well.) In my review of GD-7, I mentioned that the green-toned light-reflective particles in PU-6 looked odd. (This was based on the swatch I did before purchasing GD-7.) On my eyes, the green sparkles don’t look particularly pronounced or too jarring since the overall finish is quite sparkly anyway.

Both the color and the finish last very well. There is virtually no fading, traveling or sparkle fallout over the course of wear, and there is only very minimal creasing towards the end of wear.

(Note that alcohol is the fourth ingredient on the ingredient list of this product (as well as GD-7). This could cause concerns for some people.)

I really like the fresh and spring-like color of PU-6. However, I wish I could combine the glimmering finish (which is not too intensely sparkly) from one layer of the product and the color saturation from two layers of the product. (Between PU-6 and GD-7, I prefer the color of PU-6 and the less sparkly finish of GD-7.)
