Dior‘s holiday 2018 Midnight Wish makeup collection, like the brand’s recent holiday collections, features some lovely Diorific items. However, there is no Diorific pressed or loose powder this time. (Take a look at the ones I have from 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017.) I suppose, in a way, Rouge Blush in 001 Midnight Wish from this collection is the continuation of the gold-toned pressed/loose powders from previous holiday seasons, and I decided to get it with my Boots points. Today I would just like to share with you photos as well as my first impression of the item.
Dior Rouge Blush in 001 Midnight Wish (ディオール ルージュ ブラッシュ ミッドナイト ウィッシュ 001/ 迪奧 藍星訂製腮紅盤 幸運星願限量版 001, limited edition, £34) is a light-to-medium bronze-toned gold with a light-to-medium (towards medium) pigmentation level and pearly shimmer. It has fine multi-hued light-reflective particles and it doesn’t have any large sparkle or glitter.
Depending on one’s skin tone, it can be used as a blusher, a highlighter or a bronzer. It can also be used as an eyeshadow. (It will probably work as a light bronzer for my light-to-medium skin tone, but I am particularly looking forward to wearing it as an eyeshadow.)
The star motif is regularly used on Dior’s fashion items and it is also occasionally used on the brand’s beauty items. I do like the design this time. (The eyeshadow palettes from the brand’s fall 2013 makeup collection also feature the star motif.)
Rouge Blush was very recently launched as part of Dior’s fall 2018 makeup collection. It makes sense for the brand to release its annual gold-toned powder for the holiday season in the Rouge Blush range to draw attention to the new range as well as to change things up a little bit. I like all the Diorific pressed and loose powders I have, but it is good to add something different to my collection.
