Kosé seems to be one of the brands to go to for liquid eyeshadows. (I still remember Beauté de Kosé’s Eye Fantasist was a very popular product, but I have never had a chance to try it.) Last year, I decided to try Kosé Fasio’s Liquid Eye Color WP in GD-7, and, today, I will be sharing my thoughts on Kosé Esprique‘s Glow Eye Veil in PU130.
Kosé Esprique Glow Eye Veil in PU130 (コーセー エスプリーク グロウ アイヴェール PU130/ 高絲 丰靡美姬 幻粧 恆耀持色眼彩蜜 PU130 魅幻粉紫, ¥1200) was released in Japan for the holiday 2017 season (when the Glow Eye Veil range was launched). (All the eight shades released at the time are regular shades and are still available.) It is a medium-depth purple with a moderate pigmentation level. It has a softly glowy finish with a veil of multi-hued shimmer.
The product is easy to work with. There is enough time for blending to create a gradation, and repeated layering does not result in any patchiness. (The line suggests using the sponge applicator to spread and blend the product (without the need to use fingertips). However, I do still use my fingertips to blend the product after I place it on my eyelids with the sponge applicator.)
Both the color and the finish have a very good staying power. (The freshness of the purple hue does not fade over the course of wear.) There is only very minimal creasing towards the end of wear.
(Note that alcohol is the second ingredient on the ingredient list of this product. This could cause concerns for some people.)
Overall, I do like this product. Even though it takes time to apply and blend it, I do get a beautiful purple shade with a flattering finish. It has sufficient depth to work well for me as a shadowing shade, and the tone of the purple hue (which is not too warm-toned for me) appeals to me a lot.
(For your reference, Kosé Esprique Glow Eye Veil and Kosé Fasio Liquid Eye Color WP are both priced at ¥1200 in Japan. Glow Eye Veil contains 8g of product while Liquid Eye Color WP contains 5g of product.)
