Since last year, I have reviewed Anna Sui‘s Rose Cheek Colors in 300, 301, 100, 302 and 601. Today I will be sharing my thoughts on 600 before I move on to Rose Cheek Color N.
Anna Sui Rose Cheek Color in 600 (アナ スイ ローズ チーク カラー 600/ 安娜蘇 魔顏精靈薔薇頰彩 600, ¥3500) was released in spring 2012. The four shades in this variation are:
- deep orange, with an above-medium pigmentation level, with a velvety-to-satiny finish and a slight hint of glow
- peachy orange, with an above-medium pigmentation level, with a velvety-to-satiny finish
- light yellow gold, lightly pigmented, shimmery
- off-white champagne, lightly pigmented, softly shimmery
The deep orange and the peachy orange are the main blusher shades in this variation, and both shades have a good staying power. The light yellow gold and the off-white champagne are both fairly sheer and they go on mainly as shimmer with hints of color. (Between the two, the light yellow gold is very slightly more pigmented and slightly more shimmery.)
The deep orange, not surprisingly, looks very orange-toned on me. The peachy orange looks less intensely orange-toned in the pan, but it still looks quite orange-toned on me. (It only looks slightly peachier than the deep orange.) When mixed, the two shades show up as a deep orange with a subtle peachy tone.
Generally, very orange-toned blushers don’t look good on me. However, the orange in this palette is so deep that it can create quite an intense sun-kissed look. It is a bold look and I would only go for it very occasionally, but the look does have an intriguing appeal.
Overall, 600 is not as wearable as 300, 301 or 302, but it does create a specific look that can work for me. It is not going to be one of my everyday blusher palettes, but I will continue to experiment with it.
