A few months ago, I reviewed Canmake‘s Mat Fleur Cheeks in 01 Mat Apricot, and today I will be focusing on 02 Mat Girlie Rose.
Canmake Mat Fleur Cheeks in 02 Mat Girlie Rose (キャンメイク マットフルールチークス 02 マットガーリーローズ/ Canmake 花漾戀愛修容組 (霧面) 02, ¥800) was released in fall 2014 (when the Mat Fleur Cheeks range was launched with three variations). It features a pale pink (top left and bottom right), a light pink, a bright cherry pink and an off-white pink. All the shades are softly matte with no shimmer. The powder is soft and it is easy to apply and blend.
The pale pink, the light pink and the bright cherry pink are designed to be mixed together. When mixed, they show up as a light-to-medium cool-toned pink with a marshmallow-y matte finish and a light-to-medium pigmentation level. The staying power is fairly good.
The off-white pink is designed to be applied on top of and over the edges of the blusher shades. When applied as suggested, it makes the overall finish even fluffier and more marshmallow-y.
As with 01 Mat Apricot, the powder is quite softly-pressed, but, as the shades are lightly-to-moderately pigmented, I don’t worry too much about over-application.
Even though 01 Mat Apricot (which I do like a lot) is probably the most wearable variation among the four in the range (04 Mat Romantic Mauve was released in summer 2015), I slightly prefer 02 Mat Girlie Rose simply because of its slightly cooler tone. I find the combination of the cool color tone and the fluffy matte finish very appealing, and the look it creates is indeed very girlie. It is a soft girlie look without being too bright or vibrant, and it is still a wearable everyday look.
