Once again, Dior‘s holiday makeup collection features the limited-edition Diorific items. The 2016 lineup includes the new Diorific Matte Fluid apart from the usual pressed powder, lipsticks and nail polishes. I decided to get Diorific Splendor Illuminating Pressed Powder in 001 with my Boots points.
Dior Diorific Splendor Illuminating Pressed Powder in 001 (ディオール ディオリフィック パウダー (スプレンダー) 001/ 迪奧 金燦光感蜜粉餅 001, £50) is a golden beige with a multi-hued shimmery finish. (There is only one shade available this year, unlike the previous three years.) It is more yellow-toned than Diorific State of Gold Illuminating Pressed Powder in 001 Luxurious Beige from 2015. It is warmer than the 2013 and 2014 versions I have.
I like the design on the pressed powder, with threaded sequins surrounding the brand name. Even though it is not particularly imaginative or original, it is nicely arranged and looks quite pretty and glamorous. It is my favorite design among the four.
The powder is fragranced. I could smell the scent even when I was taking photos of the powder.
The appearance of the powder case remains the same. It closes magnetically like the ones from 2013 and 2015.
While the Diorific items certainly look classy, opulent and festive, I do hope that Dior will release something a little different (perhaps in addition to them) for the next holiday season. This is probably unlikely to happen, but I will remain hopeful!
