Paul & Joe Eye Color CS in 102 Autumn Leaves & Lipstick Case CS 034 (Fall 2016)

From Paul & Joe‘s fall 2016 A Stroll in the Park makeup collection, I went for Eye Color CS in 102 Autumn Leaves and Lipstick Case 034. The two items feature the brand’s main print for this season, which I find very attractive, and, among the three variations of Eye Color CS released for this season, 102 Autumn Leaves is the most wearable for me.

Paul & Joe Eye Color CS in 102 Autumn Leaves (ポール＆ジョーアイカラー CS 102 秋色の葉/ Paul & Joe 漫步公園眼彩餅 102 秋葉, ¥2600 in Japan, £17 in the UK) is one of the three limited-edition variations of Eye Color CS for fall 2016. The three shades in this variation are:

light yellow gold, lightly-to-moderately pigmented, with high-toned pearly shimmer
light peachy orange, lightly-to-moderately pigmented, with pearly shimmer
medium-to-dark warm brown, moderately pigmented, with a satiny glow

All the shades have multi-hued light-reflective particles. They have a very smooth texture and are very easy to apply and blend. They have a good staying power.

As a base shade, the light yellow gold can look quite yellow-y, and I tend to apply it light-handedly. The light peachy orange looks fresh with a touch of vibrancy. It is more of a lightening shade as it doesn’t create shadows for the eyes. The medium-to-dark warm brown is not particularly pigmented as an eye-lining shade, and it is easier to layer it for more intensity with a sponge applicator. (The product doesn’t come with an applicator.)

The overall look is fresh, and it looks more spring-like than autumnal. Salmon pink, peach and orange eyeshadows have been popular in East Asia for a while, and the light peachy orange in this palette falls into this color category. The shade suits me reasonably well, but I do prefer my gold-toned bronze browns.

I like the feather fan motifs (with feathers and leaves) of the print on the case, and I particularly like the use of colors for the motifs.

Paul & Joe Lipstick Case CS 034 (ポール＆ジョーリップスティックケース CS 034, Paul & Joe 漫步公園唇膏盒 034, ¥1000 in Japan, £7 in the UK) is one of the three limited-edition designs of Lipstick Case CS for fall 2016. (There are also three limited-edition designs of Lipstick Case WB from the Looney Tunes & Tom and Jerry collaboration lineup for fall 2016.) It has the same print as that of Eye Color CS in 102 Autumn Leaves.
