I have recently reviewed THREE‘s Shimmering Color Veil in 35 Shadowland and Shimmering Lip Jam in 05 Passion Fashion, and, as a blusher lover, I am sharing my thoughts on the brand’s Color Veil for Cheeks in 11 Pink Dream today.
THREE Color Veil for Cheeks in 11 Pink Dream (THREE カラー ヴェール フォー チークス 11 Pink Dream/ THREE 魅光修容 11 Pink Dream, ¥3000) was released in fall 2010. It is a moderately-pigmented light-to-medium medium-to-warm pink with a shimmer-less semi-matte finish. The silky powder is easy to apply and blend, and the staying power is decently good.
It goes on a little warmer than it looks in the pan. Even though it can be fairly easily layered for more color intensity, there is a very appealing translucency to the finish.
It looks quite similar to Chicca’s Flush Blush Powder in 04 Sweet Pink, which I recently reviewed, but they have some noticeable differences. THREE 11 Pink Dream is warmer than Chicca 04 Sweet Pink (even though, in the pans, THREE 11 Pink Dream only looks marginally warmer). Also, THREE 11 Pink Dream is more pigmented. (However, this doesn’t mean it looks more opaque. It just means its color intensity is more buildable.) In addition, it is very slightly darker.
The product’s packaging is simple and minimal. The matte gray case is very slim and it contains no mirror or brush.
Overall, I am very satisfied with this blusher and I am particularly fond of its natural translucency. I also like the fact that all the shades in the Color Veil for Cheeks range are predominantly semi-matte, unlike many blushers from Japanese brands that have a glowy finish, which is currently very popular in Japan.
THREE will be releasing Cheeky Chic Blush in spring 2016 and it is presumably replacing Color Veil for Cheeks. If you have been thinking about trying any particular shade from Color Veil for Cheeks, you might want to make your final decision fairly soon.
