When I came across images of SUQQU‘s spring 2015 makeup collection, I found quite a few items to be instantly appealing. One of them was Balancing Cheeks N in 04 Mizuhanamoya, and, upon seeing it in person, I decided to get it without much hesitation.
SUQQU Balancing Cheeks N in 04 Mizuhanamoya (スック バランシング チークス N 04 瑞花靄/ SUQQU 雙色修容盤 N 04 瑞花靄, ¥6500 in Japan, £38 in the UK) features a lightly-to-moderately-pigmented muted rose pink (right) and a lightly-to-moderately-pigmented light pink (left). The rose pink has a very glowy finish without looking shimmery or sparkly, and the light pink has a subtly luminous semi-matte finish.
The rose pink is the main blusher color and is designed to be applied first, and the light pink is then layered on top of the rose pink. The combined color is a light-to-medium medium-to-cool pink. It has a fresh and spring-like look.
What I particularly like about this blusher duo is how the different finishes are layered. With many blusher palettes with a main shade and a highlighting shade, it is the highlighting shade that has a more glowy or shimmery finish. However, it is the other way around with Mizuhanamoya. By wearing a glowy shade underneath a semi-matte shade, you can create a beautiful glow-from-within look that is subtle and not frosty. Well done again for SUQQU for creating a product that gives us a natural and sophisticated look!
