I went to Harrods earlier this month to see if there were items on sale at Paul & Joe. (The Paul & Joe counter at Fenwick closed in May.) There was no sale item this time. Instead, there was a 10% discount on all items. I left without any purchase (but I am certainly looking forward to the brand’s fall 2014 makeup collection). I then stopped by Selfridges and saw some RMK eyeshadows and blushers on sale. This was expected, since the brand released Ingenious Powder Eyes N and Ingenious Powder Cheeks N this summer to replace all the previous eyeshadow and blusher singles.
I went for Ingenious Jelly Eyes in JE-03 Mint Blue (£14 from £20). It is a light-to-medium aqua blue with pearly shimmer. “Jelly” refers to the lightweight cream-to-powder texture. For me, this is a happy color that is easily associated with gleaming tropical ocean under the bright summer sun.
One of the sold-out Ingenious Powder Eyes shades I wouldn’t mind having is SH-07 Shiny Purple. It is darker and more shimmery than P-13 Purple, which I reviewed in 2009. I am hoping that RMK will release something similar. (Most of the new Ingenious Powder Eyes N shades launched in May are fairly light. I am expecting more shades of varied depths in the coming seasons.)
(The Paul & Joe concession at Selfridges is unstaffed and I don’t think there are usually discounted items on offer during sale periods.)
