10th: AQ MW
With Kosé Cosme Decorte’s Magie Deco not releasing a collection for spring 2012, my attention is naturally moving towards one of Cosme Decorte’s other lines, AQ MW (Absolute Quality Marcel Wanders). The filigree patterns of the line’s debut makeup collection for spring 2012 run across the cases as well as some of the products themselves. Packaging-wise, I still prefer Magie Deco, but I certainly look forward to AQ MW’s seasonal releases in the future.
9th: Les Merveilleuses de Ladurée

Les Merveilleuses de Ladurée’s debut makeup collection for spring 2012 is another injection of fancy princessy glamour to the Japanese beauty scene. I have to say that I have calmed down a little from my initial excitement upon seeing the collection and that, at the moment, I still prefer the packaging of Jill Stuart and Anna Sui (within the genre of princessy style), but I am certainly looking forward to the launch in Europe.
(Les Merveilleuses de Ladurée was launched in Japan at Mitsukoshi Ginza on January 29th. Since then, two more retail points have opened: Takashimaya Nagoya JR (February 25th) and Perfumerie Sukiya at S-PAL Sendai (April 28th).)
8th: Jill Stuart

It is more pink and peach from Jill Stuart for spring 2012, all the way from eyeshadows to nail colors. It is a visually attractive collection, but things have been a little repetitive with Jill Stuart for quite a few seasons. (I am glad to see a splash of blue in the summer 2012 collection.)
7th: Anna Sui
The highlight of Anna Sui’s spring 2012 makeup collection is definitely the new Rose Cheek Color, and it looks better in person. What many of the images on-line don’t manage to capture is how sparkly the rose in the middle of each variation is. I personally don’t like blushers with sparkles, but I think it is a good move from Anna Sui to differentiate Rose Cheek Color from Jill Stuart’s Mix Blush Compact.
The countdown continues in Part 2!
