Kosé Cosme Decorte’s AQ MW (a line in collaboration with Dutch industrial designer Marcel Wanders) has released its summer 2012 makeup collection in Japan on April 16th to follow the line’s debut makeup collection for spring 2012. It features bright cool-toned shades for the eyes, and I particularly like the rose pink for the lips.
The collection includes:
– Eyeshadow (1 new variation, ¥5985)
– Lipstick (1 new shade, ¥3675)

I love the look of the palette. They’re not colours I wear normally, but it’s a gap in my collection I’d like to fill and how better to do that than with this? They’ve used it in such a pretty way on the model and it doesn’t look gaudy as colours like these usually can.
The packaging of the entire line is lovely! I like the look of the lipstick too, but it’s the type of colour I have too many of.
I don’t necessarily mind buying sight unseen when I see enough swatches and read enough reviews from bloggers I trust, but for some of these things, the language barrier is difficult (I have however, had good success with Lunasol so far).
Hi Leila,
I certainly agree with you that the bright colors look chic (rather than cheap) on the model. It is a good look for the warmer and sunnier months. (I do like the packaging of AQ MW as well.)
Lunasol has a solid following so fortunately it is not too difficult to find swatches and reviews on-line. I think it will be a lot more difficult with AQ MW, but I will try to post relevant links if I come across them.
For your reference, based on the images of the five palettes for spring 2012 on Biteki magazine, the second shade from the bottom of each palette (the second darkest shade in the palette) seems more velvety with a lot less shimmer than the other three shades. This is likely to be the case with the new one as well.
Thank you for posting your comment again! :)
THis line is beautiful but I’ve seen so few (English) reviews on it that I’m afraid to splurge considering the price point! It’s nice to see more Japanese brands take on bright colours though :)
Hi Justine,
I am pleased to see more bright colors too! (I think there is still a strong trend on light peachy neutrals (which don’t really suit me very much) in Japan at the moment…)
The AQ MW makeup line is still very new so it hasn’t been easy to come across swatches and reviews. I will certainly keep an eye on them. If I decide to try anything from the line, I will of course share my thoughts on my blog. :)
Thank you for stopping by again! :)
