Givenchy released Radically No Surgetics Age-Defying & Perfecting Foundation SPF 15 PA++ as an extension to the brand’s No Surgetics skincare line. It is available in six shades, and today I am reviewing 1 Radiant Porcelain.
Radically No Surgetics Age-Defying & Perfecting Foundation SPF 15 PA++ (25ml) is a predominantly silicone-based liquid foundation that contains ingredients that protect against both UVA and UVB rays. (It uses titanium dioxide as the anti-UVA ingredient.) It comes with a pump dispenser for convenient and precise dispensing.
It has a creamy consistency and a smooth and silky texture, and it spreads reasonably easily on the skin. (As a liquid foundation, it is on the thick side.) It dries to a flattering satiny finish that doesn’t look overly glowy or shiny.
It offers a light-to-medium coverage that evens out the skin tone and disguises minor imperfections. It doesn’t layer particularly well so you will need a concealer for more coverage in specific areas.
1 Radiant Porcelain is the lightest of the six shades available. I thought it could be unnaturally pale for my light-to-medium skin tone, but it turns out that it suits me more than I thought it would. I can go for this shade if I want a slightly brighter complexion and it won’t look too pale on me. Apart from its natural light-t0-medium coverage, the fact that the shade has a well-tuned yellow base tone helps create a generally flattering look.
Personally, one of the things I don’t like about non-powder foundations is that, after a few blotting sessions throughout the day, the foundation starts to settle into the pores. This product has the same issue, but, compared with other liquid/cream foundations I have tried, it is not the worst in this respect.
The product has a fresh green-toned floral scent. The scent itself is pleasant but I think it lasts a little too long on the skin. (I can still smell it more than 30 minutes after the application.)
Note that this product contains alcohol, which is fourth on the ingredient list. (The two active (sunscreen) ingredients are listed separately.) The amount of alcohol in this product can be worrying for some people, and patch tests are highly recommended if you are interested in purchasing this product.
Overall, this foundation offers a natural and decent coverage, and its creamy consistency should appeal to those with drier skin types. If alcohol were left out of the formulation, it would be a much better product.
