I came across this site (http://myperfum.org/category/cosmetics/) that has your posts/photos on it… Do you know about this?? Seems they list you as a "source" at the bottom of each post?

It doesn't have your most recent posts, so I'm assuming you've already notified the person?

I'm finding that Japanese cosmetics naming is getting more and more ridiculous. I don't understand how "Emotional" eyes or cheeks can get, or how "advanced" lips are. LOL. I guess with all of those brands and lines of makeup out there, its starting to get harder to find original names for them XD

Hi Sheila,

It seems to me that the concept of emotional beauty is a big part of Est's brand philosophy in terms of the brand's makeup line. Our facial expressions change all the time and they help reflect our mood and personality. Est's makeup items aim to make these expressions more vivid and striking.

Est's seasonal ad campaigns usually highlight one particular emotion. What is interesting is that they also highlight negative emotions, such as anger (fall 2009) and sadness. I find this quite refreshing and almost poetic.

(Obviously, campaigns like these don't say much about the actual products, as they are trying to make an emotional connection with the consumers.)

Also, it seems that many Japanese eyeshadow palettes and lipsticks are called X Eyes and Y Lips respectively. Sometimes, it seems that X or Y doesn't necessarily describe eyes or lips. I suppose, in the case of Advanced Lips, it is the formulation of the product that is supposed to be "advanced", not necessarily the lips.

But I do have very similar feelings to yours regarding Japanese skincare products, particularly whitening skincare products. In my post on them, I mentioned that a new Kanebo Blanchir product was called "Whitening Conclusion". I do wonder what the name of the next product/range will be…
