I was wondering whether there would ever be a new base makeup line from Sofina, and now we have the answer. On September 1st in Japan, Primavista will officially join Aube (point makeup line) as well as all the skincare lines at Sofina counters.
The Primavista debut lineup includes:
– Powder Foundation (7 shades, SPF15 PA++)
– Cream Foundation (7 shades, SPF15 PA++)
– Smooth Coat Base (SPF10 PA+)
– Bright Up Base (SPF10 PA+)
– Face Powder (seen above)

For me, this is one of the most exciting base makeup releases in recent seasons. At the moment, the new items seem to be typical fall/winter releases, featuring products like cream foundation and loose powder. I am expecting the usual moisturizing properties and soft-focus finishes from some of these fall/winter items.
While I am very interested in the loose powder, I will be waiting to see if there is going to be a spring/summer powder foundation next year, which should supposedly be more sebum-absorbing and more suitable for my oily skin.)
You can see photos of the Primavista launch event here.

PJ,
I’m not sure if u remembered, but when I went to Tokyo in March, I did ask u if Sofina Raycious is normally discounted, cuz there was quite substantial discounts all the Raycious products… now we know why… :)
Anyway, looking forward to the new range and thanks for the headsup! I’m wondering if the new range will be as good as the Raycious range.
Hi Kng Suan,
Yes, I remember that. I think there were always discounts on Raycious items in drugstores in Japan. But substantial discounts obviously meant something different.
I like Raycious items in general, especially the earlier releases. I do hope Primavista will be at least as good as Raycious. The loose powder is on my list of possible purchases. I will definitely share my thoughts if I do get it.
Thank you for your comment again! :)
I know this comment may seem a month late but I was just recently looking at Ray magazine scans and they had a page about it. As far as packaging goes, I think the ribbon accent really gives the typical Japanese “kawaii” look and feel. When it does release, I will definitely be a regular buyer. But I will read your review first :)
Hi Amanda,
I quite like Primavista’s packaging as well. It has the right balance between being elegant and being cute. (I don’t like it when the packaging is overly cute and nothing else.) Look-wise, the line is certainly appealing.
It is likely that I will pick up the loose powder. If I do, I will certainly review it on my blog.
Thank you for your comment! :)
