Among all my favorite colors, pastel purple (lilac/lavender) has always been near the top of the list. Thanks to the delicate mixture of red and blue, purple, to me, is an elegant color with the right amount of warmness and coolness.
It has been a great accent color in my wardrobe for years (be it pastel lilac or rich violet), but it is only fairly recently that I discovered that soft lilacs look good on my face as well!

I have noticed that Chanel, Lunasol, and Guerlain are featuring lilac in their spring 2008 collections, and I am predicting that lilac is a key spring 2008 makeup trend!
I have more lilacs on my spring 2008 shopping list, and I am sensing an arrival of Lilting Lilac Part II!
More splashes of colors!

What is “Beauty Diary”?
Hello again,
I was wondering with all this lilac and lavender, how do you feel about lavender lipgloss? On the Sephora website, under the DiorKiss shades, there’s one in Blueberry Muffin, which is a lavender shade of lipgloss.
I love your Splash of Color categories PJ!
Lilac is a fav color of mine! Beautiful =)
Hello CC again,
The Beauty Diary is a free 2007 planner given as a gift, which was attached with the January 2007 issue of Biteki.
It is essentially a simple and pleasantly easy-to-use planner with skincare tips and product and ingredient information from Albion, a major cosmetics brand in Japan (www.albion.co.jp).
Thank you for your question! :)
Hello Ebontien,
I have seen that one on the Sephora website as well. I have not seen the shade in the UK before (and it says it is a Sephora on-line exclusive…).
Most of the lilac-tinted lip glosses I have seen are very sheer. The one I have (the Clinique one featured in my photo) is also a sheer one, with some fine shimmer. I can usually wear it as a clear gloss and my lips will not really look purple.
I quite like it. The subtle lilac adds a sense of depth and transparency to the lips, slightly similar to what blue lipglosses can do, which I have talked about earlier on my blog.
I have to say if I am able to see the Diorkiss one in person and if I like it, it is something I might consider getting… (I like the DiorKiss range.)
Thank you for your comment again!
Hello The Muse,
Thank you for enjoying the Splash of Color series!
The idea came about when I was sorting out my stash and saw random clusters of items in similar colors. I thought they looked nice and decided to *try* doing one of those shots we see in magazines…:)
Well, I did enjoy taking the photos. I also have other colors planned, so stay tuned!
Thank you for commenting again! :)
