in -Paul & Joe, 2014 Fall, all about Japanese cosmetics, beauty tools/accessories, fashion, makeup, makeup - blusher, makeup - eyeshadow, stash focus
.
Canmake is a popular Japanese drugstore beauty brand with reasonably priced products, and it was on my list of brands to purchase from for years. (A few years ago, I tried a couple of Canmake items that were kindly passed on to me from a friend.) Some time ago, I decided to get Cheek Gradation in 06 Candy Stripe. (Since then, I picked up a couple more products, which I will talk about later.)

Since I reviewed Jill Stuart‘s Mix Blush Compact in 01 Baby Blush, I have been going back to it quite frequently and it has gradually become one of my favorite blushers. In spring 2013, Jill Stuart not only released a new blusher, Layer Blush Compact, but also brought out Mix Blush Compact N (a revamped version of the original). There were ten blushers in the collection altogether, which was great for a blusher enthusiast like me. I was keen to try Layer Blush Compact, and I decided to go for 01 Baby Berry.

Back in May, I was a little surprised to see that Paul & Joe would be releasing ten Lipstick Cases CS for fall 2014. (I suppose they do go hand-in-hand with all the new lipsticks (thirteen regular ones and three limited editions).) It was also a surprise for me that five of them would feature prints from past years, which I didn’t think would happen, even though the brand occasionally used past prints for its GWP items.
I stopped by Harrods earlier this month to have a look and I purchased seven of them. I also went for Lipstick in 107 Rose Sorbet, which is a very pretty rose pink and one of the thirteen new regular shades, but let’s look at the new Lipstick Cases CS today.

in -Kao, -Primavista, -Primavista Ange, -Sofina, 2013 Spring, 2013 Summer, all about Japanese cosmetics, makeup, makeup - base makeup, makeup - base makeup - primer/concealer, stash focus
.
Earlier this year, I reviewed Powder Foundation UV (Long Keep) from Kao Sofina Primavista Ange, a base makeup line developed for the Taiwanese market. (The line is not sold in Japan.) The products are formulated to appeal to those with combination or oily skin who need to cope with a warm and humid climate. Besides the powder foundation, I also purchased Long Keep Base UV and Liquid Foundation UV (Long Keep). (I rarely use primers or liquid foundations, but I was curious about them.) Today I am reviewing Long Keep Base UV.

Since the Paul & Joe counter at Fenwick closed in May and there was nothing on sale at Paul & Joe at Harrods this summer, I thought I’d post about my winter sale 2013 purchases last December, which I didn’t manage to write about at the time.

I went to Harrods earlier this month to see if there were items on sale at Paul & Joe. (The Paul & Joe counter at Fenwick closed in May.) There was no sale item this time. Instead, there was a 10% discount on all items. I left without any purchase (but I am certainly looking forward to the brand’s fall 2014 makeup collection). I then stopped by Selfridges and saw some RMK eyeshadows and blushers on sale. This was expected, since the brand released Ingenious Powder Eyes N and Ingenious Powder Cheeks N this summer to replace all the previous eyeshadow and blusher singles.

in -Paul & Joe, 2011 Spring, 2011 Summer, 2013 Holiday, all about Japanese cosmetics, bodycare, fragrance, haircare, stash focus
.
I do love my fragrances, but, when the weather is warmer, I sometimes reach for lighter options such as body mists. (I hope my readers in the UK are enjoying the nice weather (despite the occasional rain).) One body mist that I recently purchased is Paul & Joe‘s Hair & Body Mist, which was released as part of Paul & Joe’s holiday 2013 bodycare collection. (It is not a seasonal limited-edition item.)

One of Sofina Aube Couture‘s main aims is to make makeup application as easy and straightforward as possible, and it is not difficult to see how the line tries to achieve this with its product designs. (See my post on Aube Couture’s user-friendliness.) One good example of this is the design of the line’s eyeshadow palettes (Designing Eyes, Designing Shine Eyes, Designing Impression Eyes and Designing Impression Eyes II). The colors in the palettes are arranged in a way to show where they are applied on the eye areas. In the same vein, the line’s Designing Puff Cheek, launched in summer 2013, attempts to make blusher and highlighter application quick and simple.
