With the gorgeous rose motifs, Dior‘s spring 2012 makeup collection, Garden Party, is such a pretty collection. The limited-edition seasonal star item, Dior Garden Clutch, is available in two variations, 001 Milly Garden and 002 Granville Garden. The choice was easy for me. As I prefer warmer neutrals, I went for 002 Granville Garden with my Boots points.

Soft and feminine, Chanel‘s spring 2012 makeup collection showcases pinks and peaches and is truly spring-like. Today I am highlighting four items from the collection: Blush Horizon de Chanel, Rouge Coco Shine in 68 Candeur, Lèvres Scintillantes in 181 Bagatelle, and Rouge Coco Baume.

I still remember seeing Paul & Joe Beauté‘s beautiful debut collection for spring 2002 in Biteki magazine. Over the years, the style of the packaging has remained the same, which I think is one of the elements that reflect the success of the line. It is the combination of the soft and feminine product packaging design and the seasonal fashion-inspired Collections Sparkles, which are based on designer Sophie Albou’s catwalk creations.
Paul & Joe’s spring 2012 Meow! makeup collection celebrates the line’s 10th anniversary, and the inspiration of the collection is Albou’s love of cats. Today I am featuring Face & Eye Color CS in 078 Purr-fect and Lipstick C in 077 Catwalk.

Chanel‘s limited-edition makeup collection for holiday 2011, Les Scintillances de Chanel, features items for eyes, lips, face, and nails, and the emphasis of the collection seems to be on lip colors, with new items from Rouge Allure, Rouge Allure Laque, Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss, and Lip Scintillantes. Today I am highlighting some of these new lip products.

Inspired by the glamour, vibrancy and sophistication of New York City, Paul & Joe‘s Manhattan fall 2011 makeup collection features eye-catching shades housed in the brand’s usual feminine and elegant packaging. The focus of the collection is on colorful but wearable hues for the eyes and warm-toned shades for the lips and cheeks, and today I am highlighting Face & Eye Color CS in 073 42nd Street & Lipstick C in 072 SoHo.

When I first came across images of Dior‘s fall 2011 Blue Tie makeup collection, I was instantly attracted to the stunning case of Dior Blue-Tie. Available in two variations, it features four eyeshadows and one lip color. I was not crazy about either of the two color combinations, but, not wanting to get four off-whites in 002 Smoking White, I decided to pick up 001 Smoking Blue with my Boots points.

It has been a very long time since I brought you the last A Splash of Color post (Sensuous Plum). Today I am finally back with more, and of course it has to be lilac.
My More Lilting Lilac was back in May 2008. In the last year or so, I have been in my warm-neutral phase and one of my only new purple purchases is the new 3D Glossy Eyes in 04 Pink Violet from Coffret d’Or (which I will review later). But I have got quite a few purple items in the last three years. Here are some of the new additions of lilac, mauve, and violet:

To all the MAC fans out there (and to refresh your expert MAC knowledge): in what year was the Patternmaker collection released?*
When I saw images of the products before the release, I was almost instantly attracted to the packaging. Each of the eyeshadow and lip palettes had a varied pattern, and I decided to go for 3 Beige Lips mainly because the case was my favorite. (I like how the colors are laid out.) I didn’t really have any intention to use the colors…I just wanted to add this palette to my makeup stash…

Recently, quite a few major makeup brands have released sheer or semi-sheer ranges of lipsticks, from Chanel’s Rouge Coco Shine (see review here) and Dior’s revamped Dior Addict Lipstick to YSL’s Volupté Sheer Candy and Laura Mercier’s Gel Lip Colour. For spring/summer 2011, Burberry (see brand profile here) has released Lip Mist, also a range of semi-sheer lipsticks. Today I am highlighting 209 Feather Pink.

In the last few years, Chanel has been regularly releasing new lip items, such as Rouge Allure, Rouge Coco, Rouge Allure Laque, and Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss. Launched this spring, Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine is the latest addition. As I personally prefer semi-sheer lip items, I am quite excited about this new product.
Rouge Coco Shine comes in a slimmer case than that of Rouge Coco. (The lengths are the same and the gold bands are placed in the same position.) I like Rouge Allure’s substantial case but Rouge Coco Shine’s sleeker look also appeals to me.
