– Please check out this blog post for swatches of Coffret D’Or’s Jewelcious Eyes palettes for spring 2010. 02 Pink Topaz, 04 Amber Beige, and 05 Purple Amethyst have caught my attention.

Rouge Deluxe has posted a link to this blog post, which has photos of Lunasol’s spring 2010 eyeshadow palettes. The yellow/pink/lilac palette is my favorite at the moment, and it looks quite similar to Sheer Contrast Eyes in Lavender Coral from spring 2008.

Looking through the fall 2009 makeup collections released in the last couple of months, I think the main spring 2009 makeup trends, such as purples and soft neutrals, have taken on a more season-appropriate dimension and continued to dominate the makeup scene. Some palettes featured below feature pinks, which also continue the makeup trends earlier this year.

– Purples

Even as a fan of purples, I have been surprised to see how enduring the trend has been. I think it shows the wearability and versatility of the color. For fall 2009, most of the purples are darker, although there are still some lighter options.

– Warm Neutrals

(image from www.guerlain.co.jp)

As I tend to favor light-to-medium purples which are usually released in spring, warm neutrals are probably (very marginally) my favorite trend of this season. Among neutrals, I like beiges and browns with a warm tone. (Taupes generally suit me less.) This season, many warm neutrals have a pink, peach, soft-copper or warm-gold undertone.

– Greys

(image from www.rmkrmk.com)

Greys are usually too cool for my slightly warm-toned complexion, but they are generally great for creating classic retro looks as well as smoky eyes.

Some of the greys for this season are more green-toned, like those from Chanel, and some of them, like those from RMK, are more blue-toned.

One collection that hits the grand slam is Kate’s fall 2009 collection. Apart from the new Reflect Mirror Eyes series, Kate released a purple palette, a warm-brown palette, and a grey palette.

Also, Dior’s and YSL’s eye palettes (above) include both purples and greys.

– Warm Lips

(image from www.suqqu.com)

Last but not least, it seems that many of the lip colors released for fall 2009 are on the warm side. Many of them are warm pinks and reds with a peach, beige, or brown undertone. (It appears that there are a lot fewer rose-toned lipsticks for this season.)

Onto the holiday season, it seems that some major brands are still releasing purple shades. Look out for those from Dior, Sonia Rykiel, and Clinique.

Earlier, I wrote about Lunasol’s holiday 2009 items that will be released on November 14th. On the same day, Lunasol will also release the limited-edition Party Coffret 2009. The set includes:

– Lighting for Eyes EX-05
– Geminate Liner EX-03
– Full Glamour Gloss N EX-11
– Shining Powder N EX-03
– original pouch

I like the white color theme used for this set. It is a refreshing change from the usual copper-brown cases, and it reminds me of the two Illuminating Eyes palettes that Lunasol released for holiday 2004.

Beauty blogger (and fellow Lunasol fan) Gemilay has posted swatches of Lunasol’s eyeshadow palettes released between fall 2005 and fall 2008. (Thank you for posting a commet to let me know, Gemilay!)

My post on Lunasol’s fall 2009 collection has been updated with more item photos. There is one photo of the limited-edition Star Dust on Eyes, which looks very sparkly.

This marks the 1000th post on A Touch of Blusher. I would just like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that has been following my blog. You have helped me make it this far!

3. Jill Stuart

(image from www.jillstuart-beauty.com)

Jill Stuart’s summer 2009 collection includes a new Illuminance Eyes palette as well as items for lips and nails, but I am particularly interested in the new Jelly Eye Color N.

Jill Stuart’s (original) Jelly Eye Color is among the brand’s most popular products, but I have never tried it. (I much prefer powder eyeshadows.) Now that Jelly Eye Color N features an even more princessy packaging, there is almost no reason for me not to try at least one of the shades.

2. Lunasol

(image from www.kanebo-cosmetics.jp/lunasol)

Lunasol’s summer 2009 collection continues the Floral Purification theme from spring. The plumeria series includes warm neutrals while the hibiscus series features vibrant cool pinks. The EX02 Summer Pink Gradation from the hibiscus series may be the last vibrant eye palette from Lunasol before fall’s slightly more sombre Stardrop Purification collection sets the scene for the rest of the year.

1. Coffret D’Or

(image from www.kanebo-cosmetics.jp/coffretdor)

Coffret D’Or’s summer 2009 collection is quite a sizable one, with a new lipstick range (Juicy Memory Rouge, 12 shades) and a new palette series (Color Mixing Eyes, 5 variations) among other items. Also, the early summer 2009 collection includes 8 new nail colors.

(image from www.kanebo-cosmetics.jp/coffretdor)

Since 2008, Coffret D’Or’s eye palettes have probably been my most-used items for eye makeup. I really like the beautiful texture, the finish and the pigmentation level, not to mention the good staying power.

As I mentioned earlier, among the new Color Mixing Eyes palettes, I am liking the look of 01 Orange Brown Mix and 04 Lavender Purple Mix. I think I will try 04 first and see how it goes. I will certainly keep you posted on my thoughts.
