I have been interested in Addiction since its launch in fall 2009, but, product-wise, the new Cheek Stick from the brand’s summer 2011 makeup collection has caught my eye the most. Designed mainly as blushers, the eight available shades can also be used as eyeshadows and lipsticks. (Some of them can also be used for highlighting and contouring.)

Aurorize Eyes in Light Variation from fall 2010.)

The editor of Japanese magazine FRaU has tweeted about Lunasol‘s fall 2011 makeup collection here, here, and here. Also, see more images here.
According to these two sources, the theme of the collection is Light & Shade Purification. The new eyeshadow palette series, available in five variations, is called Three-Dimensional Eyes. Two of the four quarters in each variation feature three different hues/finishes, so each variation technically has eight shades.
The collection also includes a concealer palette and false eyelashes, among other items.
The collection will be released in Japan on August 19th.
I will update this post with more information later on.

While I am looking forward to the launch of Lunasol‘s limited-edition summer 2011 makeup collection, Lunasol has released news of an exclusive makeup kit for summer 2011, which will be available in five department stores in Japan from June 8th.
The Lunasol Summer Kit 2011 includes:

As many of you know, Kanebo (currently part of the Kao Group) is one of the largest beauty companies in Japan. It features department store brands/lines (Coffret d’Or, Blanchir, Lunasol, Impress, Chicca, etc.) as well as drugstore lines (Lavshuca, Kate, Media, etc.). In addition, it ultimately owns brands like SUQQU, RMK, and Lissage.
Over the years, I have tried eyeshadows from many Japanese brands/lines, and it seems to me that there is something common among many of the eyeshadows from Kanebo-owned brands/lines: the shimmer.
I am certainly not saying that all of Kanebo’s eyeshadows have the same shimmery finish or that non-Kanebo eyeshadows (Japanese or not) look nothing like Kanebo ones, but there is a shared trait regarding the shimmery finish and that is the way the shimmer creates dimension.

Lunasol will release its summer 2011 makeup collection in Japan on May 13th. In recent years, along with other items, Lunasol releases two eyeshadow palettes for summer in keeping with the spring makeup theme. (For spring 2011, the theme is Aquatic Purification.) Here is the first look at the two palettes, which I was really looking forward to.
The new items include:
